Mission Santrupti –Season 5

We all must have watched movies at least once in our lifetime, and if you are reading this article, you are privileged enough to watch a movie anytime you want, anywhere you want. But do you know how a movie influences our society, thinking, behavior, policies, etc.?

Comedy movies entertain us by making us laugh, and thriller movies help us see the world from a different perspective. Historical films such as biographies help us understand how far we have come as a society and how many people have sacrificed their health, wealth, and even life to reach where we are now. Every film reflects the culture and transforms opinions.

A good movie will entertain, educate, and inspire the viewer in many ways. Movies can create awareness of multiple aspects of life and teach us the history of our rich culture. Please think of the impact that songs have on people. We all agree that when we hear our National Anthem, we feel proud, and we get goosebumps. Similarly, movies make us think. They make us compassionate. They inspire us to help others and to do good to and for humanity.

One such movie was released recently as “Major,” a 2022 Indian biographical action-drama film directed by Sashi Kiran. It was Filmed simultaneously in Telugu, Malayalam, and Hindi languages.

The film follows the life of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, an army officer who was martyred in the 2008 Mumbai attacks. Adivi Sesh is an actor who played the role of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan.

The movie teaches how one can achieve their dreams irrespective of what obstacles one may face. It teaches us empathy, that life is hard, and everyone has their battles to fight. But one thing we must learn from this movie is that no matter what one is going through in life, an individual’s duty towards one’s country and humanity always comes first.

And the movie “Major” articulates this point very well.

We at Vidya-An initiation believe that every individual should watch this movie irrespective of the segments. Still, unfortunately, many people in India could not afford to watch the film, but they need those learnings and motivation to sail through life.

Hence, we at Vidya have decided to organize an event under our Mission Santrupti, where we reach out to people across India, majorly underprivileged but well deserving, and offer them a chance to watch this beautiful movie along with their families. So that they not only get entertained but are also motivated to face life’s challenges and serve humanity in whatever capacity they can. Here are a few glimpses of the event.
